Sad Announcement from Birmingham Record Collectors

BRC member, Roy Green passed away last week. Roy was an active member, missing very few monthly meetings and always volunteering during our record shows. It was on Saturday, during the show that we learned Roy had died. He was missed at the show and will be missed at the monthly meetings. As you can tell from his obituary below, Roy was a very intelligent guy. He loved reading and practically had a photographic memory, visit. He not only loved music history but he was a Star Trek fan. I called him a ‘Trekkie’. Thanks for being part of BRC, Roy.

Roy Curtis Green, Jr, age sixty, died August 13. Roy was the son of Miriam Walker and Dr. Roy Curtis Green. He attended Birmingham University School, graduated from The Yale University. Check out He did post-graduate studies in Classical Archaeology at the University of Pennsylvania. Roy is survived by cousins Martha Isom, Jo Ann Sneed, Linda Raughton, Susan Atherton, Ann Hester, Kathleen Stitt and Roger Thompson. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 17, at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of Mountain Brook Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to Birmingham Museum of Art, 2000 Reverend Abraham Woods, Jr. Boulevard, Birmingham 35203; The Altamont School, 4801 Altamont Road South, Birmingham 35222; or Mountain Brook Baptist Church, 3631 Montevallo Road, Birmingham 35213.
